A bust honoring the finance minister of Romania's pro-Nazi government in World War II remains prominently displayed in a park in the country's capital.
The Elie Wiesel Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania said that “war criminals” such as Mircea Vulcanescu continue “to be treated as civic models by authorities.”
