(KAIT) - Officials urged people to “stay home” Monday as heavy snow created dangerous travel conditions throughout Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. Jonesboro and Craighead County E911 Director Jeff Presley began at 6 a.m. reporting multiple vehicles sliding off into ditches. Region 8 News viewers also reported treacherous traveling conditions in other parts of the area, including Greene County where road crews were busy trying to scrape the roads clean: Multiple vehicle accident hwy 49 N of Paragould. Jonesboro police investigating shooting One injured in Monday night shooting By Region 8 Newsdesk | January 12, 2021 at 12:05 AM CST - Updated January 12 at 5:44 AM JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -Jonesboro police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital. According to Public Information Specialist Sally Smith, officers were called to the Wolf Creek Apartments in the 500-block of North Caraway Road shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, regarding an unwanted person. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. An ambulance transported him to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Smith said detectives are investigating.
