single point. she was up 8 in orbit. buttigieg was up 6 in october. he is actually down a point now. what we see a shrinking of the belief for the democrats. between october and now, if there is a shift, what is behind it? is there da that? i think there are a few things going on here, number one that is key, trump s favorability ratings, the favorability net favorability is minus 6 point. it was minus 12 in october. it was minus 12 points in june. so we see his position improving. it s not just that. take a look at the dem favorability ratings as well. with see their position going down in october sanders had positive, plus two, plus two. arounders at minus 3, 44 minus 47 and biden minus 9. so trump is becoming a little more popular, the dems are becoming a little more unpopular. i know it sound so uplifting on christmas, when it comes to
unfavorables. he was the lesser of two evils. he won 2016 not because of how many, because he lost the popular vote by a lot, but it was about where. i think this is so important. it was that midwestern wall where trump broke through. if we look at nationwide, his net approval rating right now is minus 9 percentage points. look at the states of iowa and wisconsin, and he s not popular there, but he s much more popular than he is nationally. he s less unpopular. that s a beautiful way of putting it. you have a way with words. minus four percentage points in iowa. so he s actually closer to the center there. he s closer to break even than he is nationally. he s just trying to say, okay, i m a little closer there, i make the democratic candidate a little bit more unpopular and that s my secret to success. give me more. my buddy at the times, we
