The SubZero Winds, a woodwind quintet of Minot Symphony Orchestra musicians, will be featured during the world premiere of âFive Brief Maneuvers for Wind Quintetâ by Matthew Benbenek, an orchestra member.
The Minot Symphony Orchestra will present “A Little Night Musik” featuring music by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and a world premier by one of its own musicians Matthew Benbenek.
The orchestra will welcome a limited socially distanced live audience to attend the performance at Minot State University’s Ann Nicole Nelson Hall on Saturday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will also be available via livestream.
Tickets for the performance must be purchased in advance and are available at www.minotsymphony.com. Following the MSU Beavers Restart guidelines, musicians and patrons will be required to wear a mask at all times.

The Minot Symphony Orchestra will present “Simple is Better” for a limited live audience on Thursday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 6. The performance will also be available in a virtual concert format on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m.
With the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases in Ward County the Minot Symphony Orchestra will welcome a limited live audience to attend the annual family concert, 200 max per performance. The performances will be held at Minot State University’s Ann Nicole Nelson Hall on Thursday Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the performance. Tickets for the in-person performance must be purchased in advance by calling 701-858-4228.

Minot music conductor Efrain Amaya’s chamber opera “Constellations” has been released on CD.
Arts Crossing, a nonprofit organization in Minot, announced the world release of the CD with Albany Records Label of Albany, N.Y.
Amaya is the music director and conductor of the Minot Symphony Orchestra and co-director of the Western Plains Opera. He’s also assistant professor at Minot State University. According to Arts Crossing information, “Constellations” was created with a story and libretto by Susana Amundarain. It was inspired by the work and life of renowned Spanish artist Joan Miro, just before the onset of World War II, in the coasts of Normandy. The project started as a collaborative creative work between Efrain and Amundarain during an artist residency summer at Yaddo, New York.
