North Dakota labor union representatives are optimistic about the job opportunities that could exist in the state’s trades in the near future. “There’s so many major projects sitting on the horizon,” said Pam Trhlik, director of governmental affairs and business development with Laborers’ International Union of North Dakota (LIUNA) in Bismarck. Montana-Dakota Utilities plans to dismantle the Heskin plant, which will require laborers available in North Dakota, she said. Depending on the future of the Coal Creek Station near Washburn, that also could mean jobs, she said, as could a proposed $400 million ethane-fueled power plant at Williston.

Trinity Health construction focuses on energy plant | News, Sports, Jobs

Trinity provided a media tour of the plant Monday. An energy plant that will heat, cool and power a future hospital and medical office complex is a focus of current construction at the Trinity Health site in southwest Minot. A variety of work has been occurring at the construction site since Trinity held its groundbreaking ceremony in September 2018. Project completion isn’t expected until the end of 2023, but construction manager JE Dunn is aiming to finish the project’s Central Energy Plant by May. The plant will provide the lights, heating, cooling, water and other infrastructure needs of the complex.
