Burlington, IA- A Dallas City man has been arrested after attempting to meet an undercover detective he believed was a teenage girl for sex. 43-year-old Joshua Voorhees was arrested Tuesday by Des Moines County Sheriff's Deputies and charged with Enticing a Minor Under the Age of 16. The Hawk Eye reports that, on January 31st, Voorhees began speaking to a Des Moines County Detective posing as a 14-year-old girl on social media. Between January 31st and February 7th, Voorhees spoke with the detective, stating he wanted to commit sex acts with them, and naming places they could go. On Tuesday, Voorhees contacted the detective and stated he would be in Burlington and asked to meet up. The detective agreed to meet Vorhees at the Port of Burlington. Voorhees was arrested near Market and Front Streets and later admitted to speaking with and sending nude photos to the undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old.
