county extended that zone to zone b and that had people looking more carefully of where they were, where the hurricane is, and what the path could be. that s when a lot of people made the decision to finally, listen, i m going to go to a shelter. it created a big log jam. it was sort of a last minute decision, but a decision that really required it required the information that people did not get until this morning. so that s where that decision came from and that s what created a lot of consternation. but the county, state, police here have done a great job. they stood up, kept everybody calm. minor problems, a lot of inconvenience but everybody is inside at this huge shelter. john. that s great news, drew griffin in fort myers people inside the shelter where there is still room. so if you are listening, there is still time to get there and
fund, as we just heard from jonathan? well, let s start with the realization that the cruz amendment, which i actually think is the best feature of the senate bill, because when nobody s mentioned is 90% of americans are going to face lower costs, not higher costs. remember, the reason obamacare is such a fiasco, it s not minor problems. minor problems would be like saying the titanic took a bad turn and ran into the iceberg. the obamacare numbers are killing families right now. the average family is paying $3,000 more a year for insurance. they can t afford it. so what the cruz amendment will do for 90% of people with insurance, dramatically reduce their costs. that s something that we now there will be people with preexisting conditions that need support and there is money for that in the bill, and people with health problems will be put in a separate inspururance pool
administration, not the affordable care act. we know what to do to stabilize these insurance pools, bring more, young healthy people in and go after prescription drug prices driving much of the medical inflation. you had problems before trump started messaging and sending out signals about the system. there were problems before but unlike 50 years ago when congress passed medicare, immediately when they saw minor problems, they began to fix them. this congress, ever since the bill passed, the republican leadership in the house, the majority since 2011, every few weeks they do another repeal obamacare but refuse to work with us to come up with small fixes that would make this work better. nobody claims it s perfect. any time congress, since the new deal nerks time congress has done anything major like medicaid, medicare or social security, we made fixes every couple of three, five years. minor fixes to keep those programs in place.
fine, no problems at all. probably the best travel you ve had for a thanksgiving in awhile. a storm that s in the west, that is going to push across the country. that is the one that s going to be giving us the issues today in areas of idaho and eventually some of that snow is going to push into wyoming. the heaviest snow totals here possibly from jackson hole. interstate 15 will be one of the worst drives north of salt lake city today and then denver southward will also be a problem. also pictures in of these huge waves yesterday, they call this the king tides. they happen occasionally and they were up yesterday. look at the waves crashing on the shore. pretty amazing stuff. and some homes had some minor damage. but look at that. wouldn t want that to be your deck. as far as the travel weather goes, thursday is the really bad today. today s minor problems. but we could see an ice storm or actually should see on ice storm from amarillo to wichita to omaha just north of kansas city, jus
