Mayor Derek Slaughter’s administration wants an agreement with the city for naming rights to Bowman Field.
The proposal is for five years and interested parties are asked to go through the city finance department.
The notice of the proposal to increase city revenue by having a person or business to affix named signage on and around the ballpark owned by the city was listed in a legal advertisement Monday in the Sun-Gazette.
The idea was discussed and not part of this year’s budget because a prior agreement with BB&T Bank expired.
“While I am unaware of any request for proposals or progress related to that item as of this moment, I will look forward to seeing the results” of the request for proposals, said Councilman Adam Yoder.
