The state Industrial Commission approved funding for five projects through the Clean Sustainable Energy Authority on Friday, doling out $222.5 million in loans and $8.5 million in grants.
Johnson writes, "If expanded, the 45Q tax credits would greatly incentivize the burning of more coal and oil, and producing more ethanol to get more CO2, and more tax credits. It would make the taxpayer essentially responsible for paying for cleanup of the polluter’s pollution and the polluters would get very rich from the tax credits."
