NEW ULM Minnesota’s Smallest Museum held a grand opening for “The Stacked Deck” exhibit Friday.
The Smallest Museum is located in front of the Grand Center of Arts and Culture. For the next two months it will feature a collection of assorted playing cards from collector Clay Schuldt.
The display features 13 examples from 13 decks of playing cards. Schuldt has collected playing card decks for nearly 20 years. He started collecting cards to ensure he always had a full deck on hand for a game, but found card decks make great souvenir items.
The decks on display include a WWII propaganda poster deck, Civil War Union General deck, U.S. President’s deck, tarot deck and other variations on the standard 52 playing cards.
