Free speech, the music of J.S. Bach and the playful side of engineering are among the topics of Alexandria Technical and Community College s Senior College spring lecture series.
With no term papers or grading system, the classes are aimed at adults in west-central Minnesota who want to learn for learning s sake. They will all be held online via Zoom.
The college will meet at 3:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, from March 16 to April 29. Professors from public and private colleges and universities throughout Minnesota will deliver the lectures.
Other topics include the power of the presidency, the Minnesota Resources Commission, the universe s beginnings, plastic trash, the legacy of the environmental movement, media ownership, U.S. foreign policy, Pascal s Wager, autonomous weapons of war, consciousness, and biological curiosities.
14 lectures will be available through Zoom.

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. Senior College of West Central Minnesota announced its 2021 spring class schedule.
College-level scholars from across the state will provide lecture on a broad range of topics. Classes are offered via Zoom beginning Tuesday, March 16 and concluding Thursday, April. 29. Lectures are held live from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Admission for the lectures is by season membership only. The $99 registration fee covers all 14 lectures.
