Kraus-Anderson finishes Regions cancer center

Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson has put the finishing touches on a $5.5 million expansion of the HealthPartners Cancer Care Center at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. The project, a reuse of the hospital’s former labor and delivery area, includes 29 infusion bays, three nursing stations, a fast-track lab, a reception and waiting area and offices, according to Kraus-Anderson. Pope Architects designed the project. Paul Moore, a Regions spokesman, said in December that the new 21,000-square-foot space was needed because “our patient population is growing and we need more space for them. We also absorbed the patients from the closed Riverside clinic.” Space for the new cancer center became available after Regions Hospital opened its new $75.5 million, 160,000-square-foot facility for mothers and babies last year.
