The long-term ambitions of the Academy were outlined at a ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel Muscat on October 27, 2019, to formalise an agreement covering the supply of training aircraft for deployment at its Suhar campus. Oman Aviation Academy was established in February 2018 as a partnership involving, among others, the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, Public Authority for Privatisation and Partnership (PAPP), Oman National Investments Development Company (TANMIA) and Al Hosn Investment Company.

Renaissance secures funding for Oman workers village expansion MUSCAT, 20 days ago Oman-based Renaissance Services has secured funding worth RO31.7 million ($82 million) for the expansion of its workers village at Duqm region of the sultanate, reported Times of Oman.    Phase One of the Renaissance Village Duqm (RSVD) had been completed out of funding from equity, shareholder’s bridge funding and internal surplus; and its total capacity now stands at over 23,000 beds, said the report.   The new funding comes following the successful closing of debt financing deals with six leading Omani financial institutions - Bank Muscat, National Bank of Oman, Bank Dhofar, Ahli Bank, Oman Arab Bank and Al Omaniya Financial Services.

Two new British schools opening in Muscat in 2021 By: Times News Service Photo: Supplied Muscat: Two British schools with a long-standing reputation in achieving top academic standards and an emphasis on all-round student development are set to open this year. Campuses for Cheltenham Muscat, a 180-year-old institution for children between the ages of three and 18, and the 113-year-old Downe House Muscat, will set up their facilities in the capital in 2021. Their opening is subject to final approvals from the Ministry of Education, but applications for September 2021 have begun. The schools will be run in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, and the arrival of the two educational facilities has been welcomed by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimour Al Said, the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.
