27 April, 2021 â Ministers Foley and Madigan confirm patronage of new special school in Carrigaline
Minister for Education Norma Foley TD and Minister of State with responsibility for Special Education and Inclusion Josepha Madigan TD are pleased to confirm that the new special school which was recently announced, will operate under the patronage of Cork Education and Training Board.Â

This new special school will have the capacity to provide 48 school places, and will provide for the needs of children with autism and general learning disability up to eighteen years of age. Â
This new school, to be established in Carrigaline, will provide places to those students who do not yet have an offer of special school place for September 2021.

Ministers Foley and Harris publish Education Indicators 2020 report: facts and figures on all aspects of the education system
The Minister for Education Norma Foley TD and Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science today announced the publication of Education Indicators 2020 a special report which sets out to provide a comprehensive set of educational indicators for the education system in Ireland.
The data in the report covers all levels of education, starting with early years and working through school education, further and higher education through to lifelong learning. The report provides an overview of the work of both the Department of Education and the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
