The Family Day weekend will also be another free fishing weekend in Saskatchewan.
The provincial government announced Thursday that from Feb. 13-15, residents and visitors to the province can fish without having to buy a fishing licence.
Free fishing weekend applies only to provincial bodies of water outside of national parks that have an open sport fishing season.
“Every year, more than a quarter of a million anglers enjoy Saskatchewan’s world-class fishery,” Environment Minister Warren Kaeding said in a media release. “Free fishing weekend is a great time to enjoy the outdoors and experience ice fishing, perhaps for the first time.”
