DHAKA, April 10, 2021 (BSS) – Director General of the Department of Environment Dr AKM Rafiq Ahmed passed away at the age of 55 at the Central Police Hospital in the capital early this morning.
According to family sources, he was admitted to hospital on March 23. Later, he tested positive for COVID-19.
As his condition worsened, he was kept in life support yesterday.
Rafiq Ahmed left behind his wife, two sons and a number of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
In a condolence message, Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Md Shahab Uddin expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Rafiq Ahmed.
