BSP leader Mayawati has criticized the government of Rajasthan over a bill providing minimum guaranteed income for all adult citizens, saying it is aimed at serving the governments political interest. The bill was passed on 20 July and will see beneficiaries receive guaranteed employment at minimum wage for up to 125 days per financial year. Other beneficiaries like seniors, widows and single women are entitled to a pension under the bill. The pension will be increased yearly at 15% from the 2024-25 fiscal year.
