A lot of us love Wawa. Jeanne Brown, not so much.
“Too many of them, and all the traffic. You know what that’s gonna do here?” she said.
“It was my worst nightmare,” she said, as we walked around the 12-acre construction site just steps from her gravel driveway.
“If this had been all cleared for a solar power field, all right, bring it on. That’s technology. That’s the future,” she said. “But for a Wawa? Do we really need another Wawa? I mean, look over there.”
She motioned toward the Vineland Mini Deli, a mom-and-pop shop with a handful of Conoco gas pumps in front, at West Landis Avenue and South Mill. Mom-and-pop were doing brisk business on a brisk Saturday morning.
