nobody denies that when a piece of legislation impacts tens of millions of people and many hundreds of billions of dollars, it s significant. to the best of my knowledge, as of today, what the republicans want to do, because they don t want a discussion like this about what s in the bill, what they want to do is pass it in a very brief period of time in the house, bring it to the senate without any hearings at all. unprecedented for a major piece of legislation like that. so there is a reason why the american medical association opposes it, why the american hospit association oppose it is, why aarp and many groups, many other organizations oppose them, because it does the things that judy talked about. it s going to result in people dying because you don t have health insurance, you get sick and you don t go to the doctor.
