MILTON, WI - Robert C. Gray, age 99, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Our House Assisted Living. He was born in Thibeau Point, Jefferson County, WI, on January 9, 1922, the son of Winfred and Myrtle (Dorn) Gray. Growing up, Bob learned to love farming, fishing, and fast pitch softball. He also grew fond of playing cards, especially euchre. Bob graduated from Milton Union High School in 1940. He married the love of his life, Penny Smith, on February 24, 1951, in Milton Junction, WI. Bob and Penny enjoyed 70 years of marriage before his passing. He retired from General Motors in 1983 where he had been employed for 30 years. Although Bob earned his living to support his beloved family at GM, his passion was farming. Bob farmed in cooperation with his brother for the majority of his life all in the Milton area. Janesville, WI - Janet Marilyn (Lawrence) Ackerman went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 11, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Watertown, WI on May 25, 1930, the daughter of David and Elsie Lawrence. She married William Charles Ackerman on January 4, 1949, and he preceded her in death on July 9, 1991.
Janet attended Janesville High School and later went on to work at Parker Pen, the Janesville Country Club, and as a Telephone Operator. Most of her years were spent caring for and loving her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved the Lord and had a passion for all to know Him. For over 40 years, she cherished her time spent with her lunch bunch friends. Janet also enjoyed weekend trips that were filled with blue grass, shopping, and sight seeing. Janesville/Madison, WI - Lorraine J. Solien, lived a long happy life and recently passed away at age 93, on January 12, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Karen. Lorraine loved life and still had a long list of things to accomplish. Lorraine s life began in South Beloit, Illinois on March 11, 1927, the daughter of Edward and Grace Freeman. She was an amazing student and graduated valedictorian (of course) at South Beloit High school in 1945, and went on to study nursing at Madison General Hospital.
After graduating from nursing school in 1950, she decided to travel around the country to experience working at different hospitals. She came back to Fort Atkinson Hospital and met her future husband, Kenneth Pat Solien of Edgerton, WI. The two were married in Beloit, WI in 1953. Together they had six wonderful children. Lorraine continued working as a nurse and retired from Mercy Hospital in Janesville in 1993. After retirement, Lorraine spent her tim
