Chidester: Education that works for the student

2020 was stressful for many parents, especially those parents with school-aged children. Many of the flaws of an antiquated school system were fully exposed during the coronavirus pandemic. Parents watched as their children struggled, none more so than those parents and children who already felt trapped in a school system that was not the right fit for their child.
As an educator in the private sector, I learned decades ago that one-size-fits-all does not fit all students. Each student is unique, and although many can adapt to a generalized approach to learning, many more need the freedom to travel on a path more suited to their learning style and educational goals. That is why Educational Freedom Accounts (EFA) are an essential tool in helping parents and supporting the student.
