Millennial Park in Baton Rouge is the first of its kind in the state, and so far has proved to be a popular destination for families, and people of all ages looking for something different and fun in this crazy age of COVID-19. The park is located at 3817 Florida Blvd., and according to Louisiana Weekend, it acquires old shipping containers from a New Orleans shipping dock and re-purposes them into dining vendors. Pretty cool, but owner and CEO of Millennial Park Cameron Jackson wants the city to allow alcohol sales, and neighbors are less than enthused.

Millennial Park on Florida Boulevard has been opened since last spring. It’s filled with colorful shipping containers that have turned into businesses. Patrons can eat, shop, listen to music, and enjoy several events a year.

The 25-year-old is the president and CEO of Millennial Park, Baton Rouge’s first shipping container park. After opening in the summer of 2020, the open-air eatery has quickly become a hub for the community. Besides providing tasty food from different cultures on the Florida Boulevard corridor and even a space for drive-in movie nights, Millennial Park also strives to help its neighbors. Jackson has hosted free drive-thru turkey drives, flu shot and voter registration events and school supply giveaways. It is the home of Louisiana’s largest Little Free Library, where the public can donate and borrow books for free.
