Day off from negotiating, but officials from new Jersey Transit said the last day of talks were productive and positive and theyre hoping to avoid a strike. Commuters hoping todays face toface negotiations could be the difference that will ensure the trains will keep running. After a day off from talks, leaders representing the 11 rail unions and new Jersey Transit will meet in person. The unions have been operating withouts new contract or raise since 2011. About 105,000 people rely on the transit trains daily and Railroad Officials are already warning that if the strike happens their contingency plan will be able to help out about 40,000 of the riders affected.
