Srinagar: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Food Safety Kashmir Division, the Drugs & Food Control Organization (D&FCO) Kashmir on Saturday carried out a special sampling drive of Milk Vendors for detection of adulteration and compliance to the notified standards at 90 Feet Area, Zone-III Srinagar.
During the drive 20 Milk Vendors were checked and 12 samples of loose/raw cow s milk

Milk vendor Ankur Gurjar said that due to an increase in the price of cotton cake by 50 per cent and that of the price of electricity and petrol along with other animal feed, the cattle owners were left with no option, but to increase the price of milk at the local level so that they could meet their expenses.
