A month after the State Board of Education raised the score needed to pass the new NJGPA, an Assembly panel voted to make it a field test for current juniors.
New Jersey is now the second state to mandate AAPI history be added to the curriculum for K-12 students, as Gov. Phil Murphy signed the new legislation into state law on Tuesday. The bills will add an Asian American and Pacific Islander history requirement in the curriculum, and establish a Commission for Asian American Heritage in the state's Department of Education.
