Public health center on virus frontlines in Japan gets anonymous gift of 100 bouquets

(Mainichi/Ran Kanno) KAGOSHIMA Staff at the Kagoshima Public Health Center in this southwest Japan city got a surprise delivery of 100 flower bouquets from a mystery admirer on Feb. 12, along with a message reading, With complete faith, respect and thanks. There are no definitive clues on who was behind the gift, but they appear to have been sent by a local resident to convey gratitude and encouragement to staff working to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Mikio Tsuchiya, the head of the center s disease prevention division, said, It keeps us going knowing there are people supporting us, and we are very thankful.
