The brown trout action has started in Lake Ontario, while in streams and tributaries, water clarity has improved after last week’s rainfall, and with slightly high flows, anglers are finding hungry steelhead.
The New York Power Authority Fishing Platform and the other NYPA fish facilities have opened for the season, ahead of the traditional April 1 schedule.
Perch, crappies, bluegills, bass, and pike are still feeding in the bays, and with medium flows and slightly stained water color, steelhead are active in the streams.
