Ill start by saying were now hearing report that divers have found at least one victim, one person who did not survive this crash. Its a fluid situation. Were still waiting for official word from the nypd but thats the word that were hearing now on the beach at breezy point. Let me show you how big this search and rescue effort is. It goes all the way down the beach and that where we believe there might be some debris that theyre bringing to shore after having found it in the water as far off as a mile and a half offshore in the atlantic ocean. The initial 911 call according to Police Sources came in just before 8 00 last night with the caller reporting seeing a flash in the sky. Nypd harbor units recovered offshore. The nypd believes at this point, only one person was onboard this twoseater plane. They recovered debris including a wing, wheel and tail according to sources. Were told the plane was headed from philadelphia last night to maine. The faa is investigating. The nypd does plan to resume the search for more debris, anything else that might be left later this morning.
