It was quite the scene as the first customers rolled up to the first ever Wawa drive-thru Friday: dance music bumping through the parking lot, a crowd of company big wigs and media, and Wally the Wawa mascot cramming his giant head through the drive-thru window to wave at fans.
It’s not your usual coffee and Sizzlis run.
The new Wawa at 570 Rancocas Road in Westampton opened with much fanfare as the beloved brand launches itself into the world of drive-thru fast food, driven partly by the demand for socially-distant service during the pandemic.
