PAWTUCKET – Construction on a new soccer stadium at Tidewater Landing is continuing on uninterrupted, with concrete and rebar forming the base foundation for coming steel on the riverfront.
With concrete foundation work underway and steelwork set to rise in May for the $124 million Tidewater Landing soccer stadium, construction is progressing despite a hold in public funding amid inflationary pressure.
Since news first emerged about the delayed public bonds, answers about what’s gone wrong, how the problem will be solved, and the scale of the private financing gap have been hard to come by.
R.I. Governor Dan McKee said Thursday he remains optimistic about the Tidewater Landing soccer stadium project in Pawtucket, even after news that Pawtucket had not yet gone out for financing on a big chunk of the public’s support for it.
