Sixteen-year-old Ryan Carbone of South Whitehall Township, who died when a truck crashed into a disabled car on Route 22 near Route 309 early Saturday, was credited with saving the lives of others. Carbone and others were using flashlights on their cell phones to warn approaching drivers of the disabled car in the roadway. George Luis Pena said he was driving to work with his two brothers when he saw the lights and was able to steer around the stopped car. But a truck driver behind them wasn’t able to stop and plowed into the car, killing Carbone.
