The first weekend closure for a portion of Pitt Street has come and gone. Unfortunately for some downtown businesses, it appears despite all the bolstering the initiative received, it didn’t lead to an immediate increase in foot traffic.

Cornwall city council voted in favour of closing the downtown street from Second to First streets and from First Street to 58 Pitt St. during its last meeting. According to a report presented by administration and requested by Coun. Justin Towndale, the closure was supported by several downtown bus
