Winter start-ups
⢠Downhill skiing: Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area in Jones fired up its snow guns Monday night and will continue making snow each night this week as long as thereâs the right combination of temperatures below 28 degrees and dry enough air, says Mike Panich, whoâs helping with public relations and management. Timber Ridge and Bittersweet resorts near Kalamazoo also started making snow. Opening dates are yet to be determined. When Swiss Valley does open, Panich says, there will be food service but not for indoor dining, per state restrictions; youâll have to eat outside, like at a picnic table or in your car.
