These women have made history during their respective eras, paving the way for others in their fields.
And all three have been commemorated by a Cincinnati brewery for International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8.
After rolling out “Annie” and “Ruth” beers in past years, MadTree Brewing Co. will release its “Malala” American pale ale March 8 in honor of the Pakistani activist and youngest-ever Nobel Prize winner.
“It was the first time that we had an all-female staff brewing, cellaring, (collecting data) and even packaging,” said MadTree production manager Brittany Frey. “We were able to have a complete female operation from beginning to end.”

Black-owned businesses saw a surge in interest beginning at the height of the 2020 summer protests in response to the death of George Floyd. Searches for Black owned businesses increased over 7,000% between May 25 to July 10, according to a consumer report released by Yelp.
