Voters in 73 counties went to the polls Tuesday. Among the hot races: mayor contests in Warren and Westland; ranked voting in East Lansing, Kalamazoo and Royal Oak; and dozens and dozens of local bonds.
The balance of power is so slim in Lansing that if both Democrats running for mayor win, it could push the party's leverage in the state House out of the majority.
The election of two state representatives as mayors in southeast Michigan communities means that Democrats have lost their majority control of the state House.
