. i m mike mibach julie julie haener two people had to be rescued today when their truck was swept up by floodwaters. ktvu is jana katsuyama talked with members of the oakland fire department who are part of the rescue team called down to hollister. she joins us now live with their story and the message to all drivers, janna julian mike, the state has put all of these swiftwater rescue teams on standby and overnight the one based here in oakland, got the call about two people who were trapped on top of their vehicle. yes it was dark and dangerous. when rescue crews arrived, they found the two people standing on top of a gray pickup truck that was surrounded by rushing water. their vehicle started getting carried away by, uh, the amount of water that was flowing and ended up being in a riverbed. oakland firefighter cassie hayes is part of the special state swift water rescue team that was called to hollister s around 11 30 tuesday night. look at that tag line. rolling out long
