Rita Coleman was all smiles from the back seat of her mom s minivan, having just visited with the Easter bunny and hugged a llama. We re having fun! she shouted.
And that was before the St. Paul girl had participated in any of the games at the Shangri-La Accessible Egg Hunt Drive-Thru.
Rita has Down s Syndrome and has been a regular at the annual event hosted by the nonprofit organization.
Shangri-La created the accessible egg hunt eight years ago to show traditional community events can be made more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities with just a few minor modifications.
