Recently, family and friends of the Fremont woman gathered for a dedication of the Hazel Dillon Lodge at Carol Joy Holling Camp, Conference and Retreat Center near Ashland.
This new, 12,000-square-foot, $3.2 million lodge will house first- through sixth-grade campers each summer.
From August through May, when camp isnât in session, the lodge will be utilized for events, meetings, conferences and retreats.
The upper level dining and meeting space will seat more than 150 people, while the deck seats about 100. The lower-level sleeping rooms will accommodate up to 86 people for multi-day retreats. The building is Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible.

British Baker has rounded up a team of industry experts to ensure that Britain’s Best Loaf truly lives up to its name.
There are well-known and respected faces, former champions and scientific specialists among the ranks with centuries’ worth of collective experience in the baking world.
Birds Bakery sold 182,000 Easter-themed bakery items in the run up to the holiday.
As many as 122,000 hot cross buns were sold during March and April, with 40,000 selling over the weekend, the East Midlands-based business said.
Altogether 36,000 Easter cupcakes,14,000 gingerbread rabbits and 10,000 chocolate lollies were distributed from the bakery’s 62 shops.
Demand for its home delivery service also spiked with Thursday and Friday slots selling out and Saturday orders doubling, it said.
Mike Holling, sales and marketing director at Birds Bakery, said the resurrection of the rule of six meant people were in search of treats and snacks for their first outdoor family buffet of the year.
