It’s hard to think of a genre more committed to sustained creative careers than bluegrass. Case in point: the 41-years-and-counting path of Mountain Home Music Company stalwarts, Lonesome River Band. Though the last remaining original member departed before the turn of the century, the group a quintet for more than 20 years now hasn’t so much reinvented itself as refined a profoundly influential signature sound that has a seemingly endless appeal to successive generations of fans and musicians alike.
The Carter Family Fold will host its latest “special show” for the month with a double dose of music from Volume Five as well as the Lonesome River Band.
The Southern Maryland Bluegrass at the Elks series will host the Lonesome River Band on Sunday January 14, 2024, at the Calvert Elks Lodge #2620 in Prince Frederick, MD. The doors will open at Noon and “LRB” will start their performance at 2:00 PM. They are a band that are sure to please and have been the most requested band by fans who attend the monthly series.
