Farm Technology Days is back!
Perfect – but hot – weather and hundreds of vendors greeted the first attendees to walk through the gates of Farm Technology Days at Huntsinger Farms in Eau Claire, Wis., the first since 2019.
After last year s show was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, this year the show was ready to come back roaring with the latest field technology, equine demonstrations, panel discussions, youth contests and much, much more. Plus, eventgoers ate brats, burgers and the Big Rygg, a monster burger with bacon, pulled pork, beef, chicken and cheese topped with horseradish sauce that honored the host family, the Ryggs.
Committee members in Eau Claire County have been planning the 2021 Farm Technology Days for four long years, thanks to the pandemic that sidelined the show for a year.
A resilient bunch, members of the various committees stayed the course and are optimistic that this year s show will provide a positive experience for showgoers. We know it s not the same path other Wisconsin Farm Technology Days committees have taken, but we ve been able to adapt and work through things thanks to a lot of good leaders on the committee, said Mike Gintner, Chair of the Eau Claire County Executive Committee. “We’ve taken the extra year we’ve had to plan an even better show.

Bob Hageman, president of the Board of Directors of World Dairy Expo, recently announced that World Dairy Expo 2021 (the 54th edition) will go on as scheduled Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, 2021. The event is scheduled for Expo’s historic home, the Alliant Energy Center near Madison. “This announcement comes after thorough consideration of the pandemic issues,” Hageman says.
Now comes the question – will the dairy cattle and crowds return to the Expo after a year of it not being held, knowing the pandemic may still be in force during Expo time?
