Princeton J. Youker, who grew up in Wheaton and worked his way through the ranks of his hometown police department, will be sworn in as the city s next chief on Oct. 2.
Wheaton Police Chief Bill Murphy will retire in September, capping a 33-year career in law enforcement. He joined the department in 1990 as a patrol officer and never worked anywhere else.
