Sunday brought a rare Sunday game for the Buffalo Sabres, with a crowd filled with players younger than those out on the ice. It was Kids Takeover Day at the KeyBank Center. Still, the crowd was just under 11,000 for the team having another difficult season.
On Sunday, the yellow and blue flags of Ukraine snapped in the brisk, cold wind as a crowd attacked the Russian invasion of that Eastern European country. The crowd also sang the music of the former Soviet state.
McKinley High School will stay remote through the end of the February break following last week’s violence that hospitalized a student and security guard. Meanwhile, Wednesday night’s Buffalo Public Schools Board of Education meeting stressed the violence is not limited to McKinley.
