2 young children die in RV fire near Columbus Updated 9:46 PM; WHITEHALL, Ohio Two young children died Sunday when an RV parked in the driveway of a home caught fire, reports say. The identities of the children, a 2-year-old girl and an 11-month-old boy, had not been released by Sunday night. The mother of the two children was taken to a hospital for treatment of burns after trying to save her kids, WBNS Channel 10 reports. The father of the children was at work at the time of the fire. When fire crews arrived at about 11:40 a.m., the RV was engulfed in flames, police tell WCMH Channel 4. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, but the two victims were found inside the RV.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that killed two young children Sunday inside a recreational vehicle in Whitehall.  The children were identified on a police report Monday as 2-year-old Ezra Payne and 11-month-old Zoee Pack. Whitehall police and firefighters were called around 11:40 a.m. Sunday to the 4100 block of Rickenbacker Avenue on the report of a fully-engulfed mobile home. That mobile home turned out to be an RV.

Girl, 2, and 11-month-old boy found dead after Ohio RV fire May 2, 2021 GMT WHITEHALL, Ohio (AP) Two small children were found dead after a fire in a recreational vehicle near Ohio’s capital city over the weekend, authorities said. Emergency dispatchers in the Columbus suburb of Whitehall report that first responders were called to an address shortly after 11:30 a.m. Sunday and found the RV fully engulfed in flames. After firefighters extinguished the blaze, an 11-month-old boy and a 2-year-old girl were found dead inside the vehicle. Whitehall Fire Chief Mike Crispen said the cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known, but investigators don’t consider it suspicious.
