Illinois Congressman Mike Bost (R-Murphysboro) has voted in support of end-of-year government funding and COVID-19 relief legislation. The bipartisan and bicameral bill includes funding for the Paycheck Protection Program, vaccine and testing funding, and $600 direct payments for adults and dependents.
He tells The Big Z it will provide working Americans, small businesses, and frontline workers relief from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also included in the bill is money for childcare centers and schools to help them safely reopen, for farmers, broadband funding, and substance abuse programs. The Senate has also passed the bill, and now awaits the President’s signature. On Tuesday, President Trump criticized parts of the bill and threatened not to sign it unless Congress makes changes.
