Ras then offered to sell the boat to Bolhuis for R200 000 and together with Van Jaarsveld, falsified the papers to make it look as if Du Plessis had sold it to Ras.

Bolhuis reported the transaction to the police after he read a newspaper report about Ras being arrested for another case.
He told them Ras had sold him a boat for R200 000, and he suspected the sale might not be legitimate.

After a 10-year investigation into the dealings of Hugo Ras, private investigator Mike Bolhuis is overjoyed after Ras was sent to jail for 29 years for fraud.
The National prosecuting Authority (NPA) s Lumka Mahanjana says Ras (53) and Willem Andries van Jaarsveld (56), from Sinoville and Rosslyn in Pretoria, respectively, were sentenced to a collective 41 years imprisonment for fraud and theft.

Pretoria - The family of 82-year-old John Rodda, who has been missing for five days, are pleading for anyone with information to help find him.
Rodda, who suffers from Alzheimerâs disease, never returned home to the Die Wilgers retirement village on Saturday after he allegedly told security he was heading to the local pharmacy for his wife.
Daughter-in-law Michelle Rodda said Rodda was a quiet, well-mannered and non-aggressive man, who had never disappeared before, leaving his family anxious about his well-being.
According to the family, Rodda took out the family car, a white Nissan Tiida sedan, with the registration CZ 25 YN GP, with no identification, credit card, money or cellphone.
