precious resource. the pictures from a mile below the surface are still haunting and even a year later some of that oil is still in the water and wetlands. nearly 300 miles of the coast continue to be oiled, but at the same time you re seeing a great rebirth and a great recovery down here. fishermen and oifrt mern are back on the water. shrimp season will start soon and rigorous testing of the catch shows its safe. the bigger problem, though is convincing customers it s okay. the perception of our seafood is probable the biggest challenge that we have right now. sugar white sooned gulf coast beaches and a hand full of tourists replace the tar that was there and more are apparently on the way. bookings are way up for our panhandle hotels and things like that. our charter captains are doing well. the economy s come back and we re doing very well here. economically and environmentally, there are evidence the wounds are beginning to heal. there s no doubt it will come
