Jakob Milani Sports Editor jmilani@murraystate.edu A 14-game win streak came to an end as the Murray State softball team lost two games in a three-game series at Eastern Illinois on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3. The Racers historic start to the season fell as they lost game one…
Lake Central won 4-2 at home in the rivals first meeting this season, but Lucka said she felt confident in the rematch, which could potentially be a trilogy if both teams win their sectionals and advance to a Class 4A regional June 1. I knew my defense was behind me, and they did so good, Lucka said. They were perfect, so I was just trying to play for them and pitch my best game.
Lucka ended the game by striking out Indians senior and Eastern Illinois recruit Mikayla Creasbaum in the top of the seventh inning, and Lucka s teammates immediately rushed the diamond to give her a group hug.

Glass said he sustained his season-ending knee injury after catching a pass and planting awkwardly in a Week 6 win at LaPorte on Sept. 25. He walked off the field under his own power thinking he would return, but when it was confirmed that Glass high school football career was over, he was heartbroken.
