Gambia’s Truth Commission hears the NIA torturers

The Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission has continued to hear from former members of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). Torture, extortion, fabrication of evidence, interference with the judiciary and with elections: several perpetrators described what “beating the truth out of people” meant under former dictator Yahya Jammeh.
