LNG Tanker Vessel To Be Stationed In Finland, Instead Of Estonia

In September end, Sikkut reported that Estonia needs its LNG tanker vessel to be stationed in Paldiski. She also added that one may even be rented in the coming winter.

The state asked two private sector companies in June not to bring a Floating Storage Gassification Unit (FRSU) to the Estonian coast, investigative weekly Eesti Ekspress reports. News that the FRSU will be sailing to Finland instead has prompted a vote of no-confidence in a current government minister.

Minister: Long-awaited LNG vessel will moor off Finnish coast

A Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FRSU) due to supply both Estonia and Finland with its Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) requirements this winter will be moored off the coast of Finland in the first instance, Minister for Economic Affairs and Communications Riina Sikkut (SDE) says, ending weeks of speculation about which side of the Gulf of Finland the vessel would berth at.
