RANCHI/JAMSHEDPUR: Academicians, principals and coaching institutes heads have mixed reactions to Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank’s announcement to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) four times from 2021. While some were of the opinion that the higher number of attempts would be beneficial to the students, others said it would make the candidates less serious on their attempts.
Talking on the issue, Delhi Public School (Ranchi) principal Dr Ram Singh said, “Four options would be beneficial for the students in general as they would get more chances to improve on their ranking. Some well-prepared students may take only one or two attempts to get the qualifying marks for JEE (Advanced) to focus on the latter.”
